From Audio to Video: Spotify’s $100 Million Boosts Creator Triumphs

Spotify Audio to Vedio

Podcasts have gone from being a small hobby to a huge part of culture, and Spotify is all in on this wave. More and more people are loving video podcasts, and we’re excited to help creators make both audio and video shows. Today, we’re sharing some big news about how we’re supporting them.

For the first time, Spotify paid out over $100 million to podcasters and publishers around the world in just the first three months of 2025. This shows how much we care about helping creators earn a living and proves Spotify is a top spot for podcasting, whether it’s audio or video.

We’re helping creators reach fans everywhere, giving them different ways to make money, and offering tools to grow their audience. Whether someone’s just starting or already has a big show, Spotify has what they need to do well.

For fans, this means more podcasts to enjoy, with the option to listen or watch right on Spotify.

A Platform That Helps Creators Grow

This $100 million comes from ads and our new Spotify Partner Program, which we rolled out in some countries earlier this year. The program lets creators earn money in a few ways, like through ads on Spotify Free or from fans watching videos on Spotify Premium.

Creators are loving it. From January to February, their earnings grew by 23%, and from February to March, they jumped another 29%. Plus, video podcasts are taking off, with 28% more video shows active each month since the program started.

Big companies like McDonald’s, Google, and Chelsea FC are noticing how podcasts connect with fans. They’re advertising through our Spotify Audience Network, which means even more ways for creators to earn.

How Creators Are Winning

The real story is how creators are succeeding. Shows like Your Mom’s House with Christina P. and Tom Segura and The Rest Is Politics: US have seen people watching or listening 45% more each week since joining the Partner Program. Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast is up 12% weekly, with total listening time growing 30% from January to March. Two Hot Takes also got a 12% boost after adding video. Here’s what some creators are saying:

  • Tony Pastor, co-founder of Goal hanger: “Since we added video to our shows on Spotify, our audience has grown a lot. Fans love watching, and we’re thrilled with how engaged they are.”
  • Christiana Brenton, Flight Story: “The Partner Program has been huge for us. Weekly listeners are up over 45%, which shows how Spotify helps us reach fans and make money.”

Spotify is focused on creating a system where creators can keep growing. This $100 million is just the start. We’ll keep adding new tools and programs to help podcasters, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for podcasts on Spotify.
