Spotify Secures Extended Agreement with Warner Music Group

Spotify and Warner Music Group (WMG) have unveiled a new, multi-year deal covering recorded music and music publishing, aimed at bolstering their shared commitment to artists, songwriters, and fans. The agreement focuses on fostering innovation and expanding the global music ecosystem.
The collaboration will drive advancements in audio-visual streaming, enrich Spotify’s music and video offerings, and introduce enhanced subscription tiers and unique content bundles. This partnership is set to elevate fan experiences while increasing the value of music through creative initiatives.
A key feature of the deal is its emphasis on artist-centric royalty models, designed to fairly reward creators for engaging audiences. Additionally, the publishing agreement introduces direct licensing with Warner Chappell Music in several markets, including the U.S., ensuring songwriters reap greater benefits in the evolving music landscape.
This partnership marks a significant milestone, unlocking new opportunities for artists, songwriters, and listeners,” said WMG CEO Robert Kyncl. “Together with Spotify, we’re committed to growing the music ecosystem and enhancing the value of music through innovation.
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek added, “In 2025, we’re accelerating our mission to innovate. With WMG, we’re creating richer music experiences for fans worldwide, making subscriptions more compelling while supporting the creative community.
