Survey: 45% of Spotify Users Would Pay More for Premium Features 2025
Despite the fact that SPOT stock fell over the weekend, 45% of Spotify users are interested in a potential “high-end” subscription tier, according to a KeyBanc Capital Markets poll. Compared to 39% in the company’s fourth-quarter poll, it is an increase.

“Although Spotify has not formally revealed a more expensive tier, remarks from the business and labels indicate one is imminent,” analyst Justin Patterson stated. This question’s expansion to emphasize priority ticket access as part of the tier corresponds with the quarterly increase [in interest]. Given that Spotify currently has deals with Warner and UMG, two large labels, we believe this tier may debut in the second half of 2025.
31% of respondents use Spotify, compared to 22% for Pandora, 18% for Apple Music, and 17% for Amazon Music, according to the company’s Q1 poll. Although 37% of those surveyed claimed to listen to YouTube Music, KeyBanc explained the higher percentage by pointing to a mix-up between YouTube Music and the video platform.
While 47% of Spotify customers have a paid subscription, 48% utilize the free, ad-supported tier. Five percent of respondents weren’t sure which Spotify tier they were using.
A survey asking Spotify users if they would be ready to pay an extra $5–6 per month for a “super fan” membership with additional features was conducted. Improved audio quality, first dibs on new releases, AI playlist generation, artist Q&A sessions, and first dibs on concert tickets are a few examples of such services. 32% stated they were not interested, compared to about 45% who claimed they were. The others couldn’t decide.
2,045 Americans were asked about their audio habits by KeyBanc. Additionally, the study revealed a higher level of interest in Spotify audiobooks (29% compared to 25% in the prior quarter).
“We still believe that Spotify is in a strong position to grow its revenue by at least 15% annually over the medium term, with the potential to grow by 20% if new initiatives and advertising ramp are implemented,” Patterson stated.
In the US, a single user’s ad-free Spotify membership costs $11.99 per month, a two-person plan costs $16.99, and a family plan costs $19.99. For $5.99 a month, the business also provides a student plan.
With a 120% gain over the last year, Spotify’s stock is still soaring despite a generally sluggish weekend. With price predictions ranging from $442 to $759, analysts continue to have a positive consensus.
